Random Post: (Weller/ Uni FMP show)

So, I'm off to see Paul Weller tonight at the Royal Albert Hall. Saw him last year at The O2 Arena, he was brilliant that night, and I'm sure he's going to be immense again tonight. I have actually found the unreleased Style Council album on youtube, and I must say, I cant understand why it was never released by the record company. It was an album ahead of its time maybe, but it would have been hailed as the first breakthrough of BRITISH 'house music'. But, eh, I'm glad I can now finally listen to it on youtube. LOL.

In other news, theres a certain line in a Stuck Mojo song that has really grabbed my attention as of late, which is

"it doesn't matter to me anymore who you think I am, I'm all I can be"

what a brilliant defiant saying!, It couldn't be more perfect! haha.

AND, finally, the final show at uni is about to be set up over the next two weeks. Was good to hear yesterday that my work has made it to the final show. My Vinyl sleeve design that I produced for Drowned At sea, will be displayed, as well as the CD sleeve versions, and the flyers series. I'm quite glad they said not to put the video in the exhibition, as it would have to be cut down to 2 MINS!, that would have meant 4 mins being cut off my concept music video, which would have ruined the whole idea of the concept video and its purpose of it.

However, I have thought of a way to advertise the video piece in the exhibition as I would still like people to see it. :)

There is more I would like to express about some other things, but I'm not going to, because people will read it, and I'd be in trouble. :S

Anyways, if your around the East- End of London, while not come along to the London Met final show? Find out the details on the website. :) or If i remember, I'll upload them here.

FMP Final Pieces, well, some of them...

Here it is, the final LP size album sleeve design for 'Drowned At Sea'. This is one of the main outcomes for my final major project. Along with the LP are two CD size sleeves, one exactly the same to this LP sleeve pictured here, the second is an alternative version where the colour arrangement has been reversed.

(Front of outside sleeve)

(back of outside sleeve)

(Inner sleeve is pulled out from the top of the outer sleeve)

(Once inner sleeve is released from outer sleeve, vinyl is released from inner sleeve via the side.)

Also, I have completed the EP teaser preview video for hand in on Friday. Check it out and see what you think......

Photography for designers 3/ Bond 're-creation' pics...

This is a sample of the final images I have created to 're-create' a scene from Casino Royale. In the film the poker game visually is very bright lit and has a 'classy' appeal. I wanted to reverse this by creating a dark theme with the use of blacked out backdrops and one light source.
Overall, I feel that these have turned out well (at least much better than I could have expected...

May Bank Hol Weekend news...(if your interested, prob not though)

So, this weekend was pretty eventful, was one set of mates wedding and another mates birthday. The wedding was very good day, especially for the couple who have been together TEN YEARS!, what a way to celebrate that eh? LOL.

I was one of my mates 'Best Men' (he had THREE, haha) and I wrote a speech, and then made the mistake of being the one to say it. I should have let my mate Glenn say it really, because if ever there was a time where I would 'crash and burn', well in my opinion this was it. However some people say it wasn't that bad, but after eventually watching it back, my opinion hasn't changed. Don't know why, but I was really shaking to the point where it was really obvious. So from the experience I'd say probably wouldn't consider being a 'best man' again.....

Anyways, yesterday was a friends 25th birthday (yes she's knocking on a bit. haha, only joking). I ended up arranging something for her birthday for a few friends to do in the evening to celebrate. Booked a game of bowling, not much, but was all I could think of, because I very rarely arrange something for someone else......I hope she enjoyed it, I thought it was a decent evening anyways....

So, uni is drawing to a near end, FMP is getting there, photography I think is dead in the water and needs a shot of adrenaline ASAP!!, and I need to start sending emails out to companies for their consideration for job offers...

Drowned At Sea, Changed graphic outcome (FINAL week 11)

These are the final outside and inside sleeve graphics for the new Drowned At Sea EP. The Orange text on the outer sleeve will actually be cut out, to allow the orange inner sleeve to show through.

Well, here it is, the final new promo shots for 'Drowned At Sea'. I hope you all like. And erm, hope the band like them too. Haha. The use of Orange will be made clear in the next couple of posts.
